I gave my hamsters walnuts in shells yesterday Rory hasn't been very bothered with his, but Messy is like Scrat (the ice age squirrel). If you touch his walnut, he'll get out of bed, pick it up and walk off with it, only to put it back where it was.
As you'll probably know, Jiang is ill. To try and distract myself (I'd just sit and fret otherwise), I made this little video...

He got annoyed with me today when I went to do his cage check. I accidental touched the walnut. He tutted, got out of his bed, walked over to the nut, picked it up, repeated what he did the night before then put it back where it was lol
Messy is a gorgeous ham! He reminds me of my Lucy who has a serious ritual involving carrying her big pellets to her wheel for no reason other than to drop them off there and roll them around...

Messy is so pretty! i love his colour Bert does the exact same thing with walnuts. he'll take it from his dish, push it all around his tubes to his house then all the way back to the dish lol..

Messy is so gorgeous. And comical. I haven't given Squeak any walnuts (yet) but I have given her a huge bonio dog biscuit...with similar results. Especially with her trying to drag it up tubes...very funny
