But then they wouldn't make nearly as many sales and for the most part when it comes down to it, a pet store is a business and is about money. Think about all of the people that don't care about researching about their pets and just want to do things the way they did 30 years ago, they skip past the rescues and the responsible breeders to the nearest pet store where chances are they will buy one with little to no questioning. And there is progress being made about not selling animals in pet stores. Some places are banning cats and dogs from being sold. It's not the same, but it's a step in the right direction. It's an idealistic view but it doesn't make the way that current pet stores are set up right.
If a pet store was working with quality breeders then yes that would be different. But how many do, or how many would? Not many I'm afraid. it sounds just as idealistic as stores not selling animals at all.
