Default National Hamster Rescue List

Whilst looking at the Towy Vale site I came across a request for people to add their names to a National Hamster Rescue List to provide foster homes for rescue hamsters within the UK.

As we have spoken on the forum quite a bit lately about rescues I just thought I'd share the details with you as I know I was unaware of the list. You can find it from the Rescued Hamsters tab on the left hand side on the following page

http://www.towyvale.com/frame.html

Anyway I just thought I'd share - I've added my name to the list.

Hi, yes I'm already on the list

Think it is a great idea and great of you to raise it on here too!

The message came back that there have been very few rescue homes required over the last year (which is good). I just was totally unaware of it, and though I would hope never to be needed to call, I think its great that there are people available should they ever be needed.
I'm not shocked at all that you are registered Catja - what with your other fostering/rescuing etc. or I_am with your recent robo rescue adventures! I just hope one day if I am needed that I can help in any way too

Sometimes it all seems so overwhelming doesn't it. I know its not hamsters but this dreadful thing with the horses that is in the news at the moment is just heart breaking, as a keen rider and someone who would love a horse if I had the time or money it is terrible to think of.

One of the reasons I don't keep a horse is that I know whether I rode it or not I could never sell it on and it would be a committment for life, as I know it is where a lot of these animals end up.
