New Pictures of My Hamsters (plus a little update)
These were taken before Christmas, I meant to post them sooner. Oops.
Sadly Max and Oscar have been separated. Oscar bit Max on the nose (you can see in these pictures) and was constantly harassing Max, not letting him near food or water no matter where I scattered it. This resulted in Max cowering away in a tube, I felt so sorry for him.
They're both happy alone, they get a lot of attention from me - Max is currently in the Rody but I'm looking into getting another cage and doing a big cage shuffle (Oscar is in the Gabber Rex, Marley is in the Zoozone and I have a spare Imac Fantasy and a spare Ferplast Laura - which I personally hate)
Please give them a second to load - I've spent ages resizing!! :P

Being awkward hehe.
Made himself comfy on my knee!!
(I took that at a very weird moment, just as I was picking him
up - I'm not being mean!)
Location: Yorkshire, UK but my heart lies in Scotland!

Awww Bailey Benji they are just adorable. We all seem to end up separating our dwarfs these days and I am sure they are much happier for it. Well ours sure are! I love the close ups they are so clear. Marley is really beautiful and the boys are very handsome.
Ah Bailey, wonderful photos - you know how much I love Marley.
The dwarves look incredibly cute too, so sorry you had to split them up, it seems as if everyone does sooner or later. The are gorgeous though and look happy.
They are all beautiful ..I especially love Marley, she's a stunner
I'm starting to wonder just how social dwarf hamsters actually are (in the unnatural situation of captivity - I've no doubt they are social in the wild unlike Syrians). I wish petshops would tell people they may well need separating at some point - not likely as many of them can't even sell correct cages and supplies or give basic care information that's correct
I'm starting to think, with the exception of robos, that dwarf hamsters tend to put up with each other, rather than enjoy it. I know most WWs and Chinese (although not true dwarfs) have to be split up, but I've not heard of too many Campbell's being separated.
I knew when I got my pair there would always be a risk of having to split, but I didn't mind. As much as they looked soooo cute together, their health and happiness comes first. I know I wouldn't like to be with my sister alllllllllll the time. I have spare cages and I'm hopefully ordering another this week (when I eventually decide who should go where)
(I tried a split playpen the day after I'd split them up, Max was scared of Oscar and squeaked when he came up to the bars)
Great pics, very cute...... what do you call the colour of the first hammie?
Thanks, she's a petshop ham so I'm not too sure. She's either a light grey or a sepia (heterozygous) silver grey - possibly even a mix of both or a grey and mix of something else
