How to make a care-sheet?
I'm going away for a while and Ms LRPanda has been very kind to look after Hamchan and Evie for me. I'm making up care sheets for the hammies, and was just wondering what else might be good to include.
So far, I've got "preferred foods" and "disliked foods", and that Evie is a bit nibbly...

Vet (that you're regestered with) phone number, emergency contact numbers, what to so if the worst happens (death), what time hamster wakes up, whether to give it excercise (floor or ball time)...

Re: How to make a care-sheet?
Hey you.
Yea telling me when they wake up would help now actually. Then I can set my lot into a routine so they aren't irritated when I start waking then up at a new time.
Evie is nibbly. So is Tobi. XD
How often do you give treats?

Roxie, it's considered a must do for any pet owner. It can be very distressing for a pet sitter when an animal dies for whatever reason in their care and they don't know what the owner would have wanted done with it.

Re: How to make a care-sheet?
I'm not sure it's appropriate when Ali is probably already worried about leaving her Hams. It's not the most reassuring thing to put. I'm sure the pair of them have already discussed it.

Re: How to make a care-sheet?
As I have already said to LRP this is a public forum, people looking for info on what to put on a care sheet may see this forum post. I'm not going to tiptoe around and only give half an answer to a question.

Re: How to make a care-sheet?
A bit of both really. Sigh. Rox, today has been a hard day to think about hammies leaving us, hasn't it... I've been quite sad over Peanut, thankfully, I've been working from home today so one can email and then tear up over a ham without anyone noticing! On the other, though LRP and I did sorta vaguely discuss it I should put it down on the caresheet so we both know what to do if that happens. The best thing is that, I know they'll be in great hands with Ms Panda, and it is most likely everything will be fine.
Thanks for suggestions - it seems so obvious when it's listed but when I'm looking at a blank sheet of paper, it's so helpful!
LRP - I do spoil my hams... /blush...and bless you for welcoming the invasion of two large cages and a giant box of supplies...

Some may consider tiptoeing around to akin to being kind and considerate in the way you word your posts :/ We could all die at any time but not everyone states things like that so bluntly.

Re: How to make a care-sheet?
It's fine. I've cleared my back room table as I didn't want them up in my room getting upset over the smell of 4 other Syrians. XD Plus it's the quietest room in the house.
They'll have a lovely little holiday of their own and it won't be long till you can have cuddles with them again.
