That is interesting. I only know about robo breeding, and they are four weeks, but often left up to six weeks. They will rarely breed before about 10-12 weeks as they boys bits haven't dropped, I know of robos left up to ten weeks by very experienced breeders, but they are very familiar with their robos breeding patterns.

Haha, Irene's such a good mommy!! So she's been trying to attack me every time she sees me near her babies. But I've discovered she doesn't actually bite to hurt--she kind of bites without breaking skin. Anyway, today I braved to pick her up without gloves--just pick her up. She sat on my hand and didn't bite at all, I petted her and carried her around. Poor girl is probably so tired of all the mothering--can't wait to give her a permanent wheel.

Anyway, I put her back into the cage and let her have a go at my hand. It was only fair after I stole so many babies from right under her nose. She attacked it for like 5 minutes, nibbling and almost grooming from every angle. Eventually she got tired and had a wash and walked off I think maybe we're at peace now

Aw a lovely story, she must be exhausted poor little lady. Bianca once keeled over sideways she was so shattered feeding all the babies, the babies didn't bat an eyelid and just kept clambering all over her. very shortly after that she started weaning

The only thing I can recommend is extra protein to build her up again as the very hungry babies take so much from their little bodies, especially as they get bigger.

Thank you for the recommendation! I try to give her mealworms and tofu every day. She's been so sleepy and tired during the day.

So all the babies have been sorted: 2 girls and 5 boys, unless I'm mistaken, but it's a bit easier to distinguish, compared to robos... Those were hard (and still are, for me). I've already named them all--going to be soooo hard to let them go.

Two girls: Opal runty (with ex-eye problem): Adzuki ("Little Bean"). Blue Fawn girl: Tesla

Boys: Runty Opal: Lorentz (Lory), Big Opal: Gauss, Red-eyed Lilac: Hamilton, Blue Fawn boy: Maxwell (Max), other Blue Fawn boy: Albert (Einstein).

The syrian and older boys will be leaving me tonight. Probably going too will be Bud, two girl robos, and the youngest boys, but maybe not the last lot. Mommy, two older girls, and two younger girls will be staying here a bit longer. I'm so sad!!!

I'm afraid my SO's not too keen on getting yet another hamster I don't know, it might still happen, but I do have 5 now and think it's a good number to make a pause on. Plus it's a bit of a possibility that if Olive is finally split up from Leela and Viola for good and gets along with Bud, the two will live together, possibly with me. If I'm going to get any of the new ones, it's going to be Tesla + Adzuki or Hamilton + Lorentz, I think.
---

Update: Only the syrian and older boys + dad left. I'm keeping mom + new babies and robos for a while longer

"Hi, my name is Adzuki, it means "Little Bean" in Japanese. I got this name because I looked like a little bean not too long ago, and still do now a bit! Apparently I'm the smallest one among my brothers and sisters.

I had a bit of an eye problem. It wouldn't open and had icky stuff all over it. That's all in the past, after this big annoying hooman kept picking me up and pouring gross stuff over it and wiping it with strange big white cotton things.

I'm pretty happy to patter about my cage and check up on my sisters now. I like broccoli and sunflower seeds. My life is great! Sometimes mum gives me a groom, so I fall over on my back and take a bit to get back up."
