Dream: "Rent a hamster"

I keep wishing I could see what it'd be like to own a different kind of hamster for a few days without actually committing to months/years of ownership. Mostly because I'm not allowed to get more hamsters with my current gang, and I'm curious about so many of them. For example, I'd love to hang out with a chinese hamster and see the mouse-like behavior and curling their tail around my finger! Or a chubby syrian! Or one of them orange Campbells

So tonight my hamster of choice is a chinese boy, preferably dominan spot

I wish I could rent one!

You could have Holly for keeps if he carries on like he was last night - unbelievably hyper, whizzing round on the floor like a little clockwork toy, getting under the sofa and refusing to come out, chewing all the cardboard bits woven through the bars of his cage .... he was even chewing the bars right in front of me, watching me defiantly like he was saying, see if I care!

That's a nice idea. Would be great for people that are thinking of getting a hamster. They could get an idea of what it would be like to look after a hamster before getting one. Chinese ones really are so cute! I love their little tails ^^
I would 'lend' my Bubble to you but you're so far away so that wouldn't work lol.
I know what you mean about wanting to look after a different hamster for a short while - I'd love to look after a long haired syrian but with 4 hammies already, that wouldn't work for me long term lol

You could babysit hamsters for people? You'd be helping people out and you'd get to see what a different kind of hamster would be like to look after.
Holly sounds cute! Bob gets pretty hyper when you handle him, I just wish he'd calm down sometimes. He chews the bars a lot and dashes about like crazy. He kinda gets so hyper dashing around that he forgets you're there and flinches slightly when you touch him. It's because he loves exploring so much and just wants to look around my room but there's so many hidey places I wouldn't want to let him outside of a hamster ball or playpen. He's a odd little thing but I love my little genius.

You can have Tobi for keeps. She escapes the unescapable and has recently and ANNOYINGLY learnt how to unscrew her exercise ball which she's done 4 nights in a row now. Nothing is good enough for my little girl.

I'm 'borrowing' Hamchan and Evie soon.

Well I'm hamsitting them. I'm quite excited about that.

I'd love to see just how friendly dwarfs can be because unfortunately the only ones I have had any experiance with are the fast little stereotypical biters.

LRP Saffron learned after two nights how to unscrew hers >.< I have to tape it closed when I put her in now but it seems to work well!

Not for keeps though--that's the whole idea! If I could get hams for keeps, I wouldn't be posting this =(
