I'm happy to read this thread. I'm getting married in September and my OH wants to go on a real vacation somewhere warm and romantic...but I don't want to go because I can't bear to be away from my hamsters, even over night.

Usually we just drive to his family's lake house in Maine and bring all the hammies with us. But he doesn't think it's a suitable honeymoon

I thought I was odd for actually not wanting to go on my honeymoon because of this! It's good to read responses from people with experience in this department that my hams would be okay staying with a good care taker.
