New hamster?
I am getting a new hamster. However, I don't know what to get. I have been to pets at home adoption centre and I have seen a small Robo called Bugatti. He is 2 months old and really nice. I have also visited a breeders house and she has offered me a five month old Syrian, who is very big and loveable. The final place I went is to a big pet store called Auqamania and they have lots of really little (and cute) Robo hamsters which I really like. I am stuck between what to get, can anyone give me some advice? I am also a beginner with hamsters, having only five in the past.

Re: New hamster?
I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. Robos are quick and fun to watch, but holding them can be a challenge. Syrians are big and lovable and easy to hold.
I have both btw if you have specific questions.

Re: New hamster?
What hamster/s do you have right now?
I'm totally in love with robos but dont have any atm so if I had to choose I'd go for the single robo

Re: New hamster?
Well thank you for both answers. I have a hybrid WW/Campbell and a WW. I suppose the Russians are the easiest to hold because they aren't too small and not extremely fast. I really like the big Syrian, but he's five months old.. I suppose it doesn't really matter, however the Robo (Bugatti) is nice too..

Re: New hamster?
5 months isn't old or anything. And hopefully if the breeder has handled him then he should already be tame so that would be good.
Do you already have a cage for the newbie?
If you do then you could go with whatever hamster will fit in the cage!
It's hard when you have to pick one or the other.

Re: New hamster?
I couldn't agree more with you, it's very hard to pick one or the other. Yes he is very tame. He can be picked up from his back and he won't mind. He is also one of the biggest Syrians I have seen, therefore I may buy another bin cage. It I get the Robo I will probably get the Imac Yo Yo Plus or something. I really don't know who to choose :/

Re: New hamster?
Since the robo is in the adoption center I'd take him. The syrian already has a nice home with the breeder and will find a new home just fine.

Yes that's what I was thinking. She really wanted me to take him while I was there. This made me question her. She might give him to an adoption centre anyway if I don't take him.. I understand what your saying though. The robo has already been in the adoption centre for a month. Which ever one I go for I will make sure I will post them on HC.
