Default Cage Rage! Help

My Little Bear has developed cage rage!

Everytime I put my hand in his cage he goes for the bite! its not a nasty bite and has not drawn blood yet but the bite seems to be getting harder each time. I try not to flinch or pull my hand away as I dont want him to think if he bites my hand will go away.

Can anyone give me any tips on how to get rid of his cage rage?

Do you need to put your hand in his cage? It's his territory, his home and you're invading it, all he is doing is protecting his territory.

Why not do that when he's not in it? ie when he's in a playpen/ball/whatever you use for out of cage time? Or if you can be quiet do it when he's sleeping.
