Default Can't wait!!! ... until Wednesday

Guess what?

I will finally be going to PETsMART this week. When I go I will get my dwarf hamsters! :P :P Don't know how many yet (at least 2, max 4) or which type... Has anyone been in the last month and knows about how much one costs and which types they have?

When I get them they will have to stay in a 10 gallon aquarium until I get more money (I'm 15 ) to go to Wal-Mart to get a bin. They will be ok in there for 3-6 days right?

So any advice that I may have not ran across while reasearching? I'm so excited! just can't wait till Wednesday! HEY, now I know how Carefresh feels! :P

The last time I was at PetSmart, they were around $7 each. They should be alright in a 10 aquarium for a bit, as long as they have shelter and something to do. Do you need a wheel? I just ordered two, and they ended up too small for my syrians. They are enclosed like a wodent wheel, free standing or clamps to cage. I would be willing to send you one if it was alright with your parents.

I think I've seen them at PETsMART for about 12 dollars each. If you can't get 3 or four at least get yourself two :P The ones I see though usually always look the same, Normal, typical grey coloration with the dark stripe. The only thing is they label them "Siberian Hamster" but that doesn't really tell us if they are WW or Campbells...

Can't wait to hear how it goes and see pictures!

My PetsMart is really bad to label the Chinese as Russian Dwarves. They also will jack prices for so-called "color rarity!!!!".

But congrats on getting them!

Candace - you're right. I just got back from there, and they were $12.99 each. Ours had both Russian and Campbells. The offer still stands for the wheel if you want it.

Lunatic, check your PM inbox.

O.K., so they're $13 each. Can I feed them Nutriphase hamster/gerbil diet? It's what I feed Biscuits. Instead of getting them an igloo, I think that I'll get them a cozy Co-Op 2 storey (check it out on the PETsMART site), it looks real cool. Do they enjoy running in a ball like a s

Syrain does? If so I'll get them a mini ball.

Can't wait till Wednesday. Can't wait till Wednesday...

Check your mail also - you should have the wheels between Wednesday and Friday. We're not far from you. We lived in Virginia for 9 years - Hampton. Hope your new hamsters like their new wheels.

Oh Chris great news Try to get males if you can and certainly see how much a miniball is although to be honest Russian Dwarves fit quite happily into larger balls. Cannot wait to see the new additions - hope Biscuits doesn't get jealous

Lol, one day left to wait! Hope it goes well!

Dwarves can be fed the same as syrians.

Gallon-sizes of tanks is a bit lost on me, especially as US and UK gallons are different! I'd say a 2ft tank would be good for a pair of campbells or wws, if it's 18 inches I wouldn't put more than a pair in there probably as there wouldn't be anywhere to hide if there was a bully in the group.

It's exciting isn't it, new hams, I picked up a new robo (Shirley) from a breeder at a show, there were sooooo many hams on the sales table especially Campbells & WWs in all the various colours, I could've easily come home with more if I didn't have my boyfriend sitting at home disapproving of the increasing number of cages!

Good luck tomorrow!
