Re: Can't decide :/
im sorry, but if you rehome one of your hamsters you should NOT get another! that is highly irresponsible, a pet is for life, not just till you get bored of it, or see one you like better.
when you take on a pet you make a LIFE LONG commitment to the animal, they are not toys, they are not disposable objects you can get rid of when you get bored

Re: Can't decide :/
I agree that when you buy a pet it is a life long contract. You have promised to take care of it through thick and thin no matter what happens. And what if the syrian turn out to be a nasty mean animal? You will have gotten rid of your precious little one for nothing. Also if it is your RC dwarf with the aggression problems you are thinking of rehoming I strongly advise you DONT DO IT! I went through the same with Pippy when the problems started, it was difficult but I got through it and now I could never separate from her, I love her so much. Please please PLEASE keep your hamsters, they depend on you, dont let them down

Re: Can't decide :/
Without wanting to sound harsh, I am really shocked and pretty appalled by this post. When you take on an animal you take on the commitment they bring. Sometimes rehoming is unavoidable, health reasons, losing a job so you can't continue to care for the animal properly, etc. You seem to want to rehome your dwarf because you've found a better hamster? Is the dwarf not living up to expectations? Tough! You took on the hamster so therefore your take on the responsibilty and duty of care for he/she's entire life. What if you see another hamster you like and feel a bond with? Would the Syrian then get rehomed?
It's appalling and I echo what Lil Miss has said. Animals are not toys and your reasons for wanting to rehome are not good enough. The fact your calling the hamster 'It' is also extremely troubling to me.
I'm not sure you actually deserve a hamster in your life tbh, they're not a commodity that can be replaced at will.

Re: Can't decide :/
I'm disgusted you'd even thought about this to be quite honest - I suggest rehoming both of your hamsters and not getting another one until you realise that hamsters are not disposable.
EDIT: Sorry to sound so harsh, if you honestly do want to rehome your hamster/s I'm in Manchester.

All hams need more than just food and water. They all have personalities and proper bonds with us. It's upsetting to sever those bonds.

Yes but, my hamsters haven't got to know me very well as I haven't had them long. I understand what your saying, if I got very attracted to them, no way would I swap them.

Am I right in thinking one of your dwarfs is like Erins Pippy? I sincerly hope you aren't going to be rehoming that one. Your average hamster owner won't understand the complex needs of that particular ham and it could end up in an endless cycle of rehoming which really isn't fair on the poor animal who never asked for the condition in the first place.

Re: Can't decide :/
My syrian Honeydo is a very untame hamster and she hates to be picked up and she smells. I still would never ever swap her. Me and Nibbles are like best friends lol but Honeydo is barely my friend right now (she just bit me) i would try and tame your other hamsters first it may take a while but you cant just swap hamsters because they are not tame

Re: Can't decide :/
It's not about how you feel. It's about how the hamsters feel about it. XD Izu would be devastated if I got rid of him.
Me and Tobi don't have a 'bond' so to speak because she's so wild atm but I love her and I wouldn't give her up. =/ I'd say don't please get rid of your hams. They're all very precious.
