What do people recommend for brushing long-haired males? I brush Chunky with a soft baby toothbrush and I also have a human nit comb. What should I brush a male I am hoping to show with? Gizmo and Balou already have very thick, getting longer by the day coats.
When I was at Gatcombe on Saturday I was speaking to Sue (Bourne Valley) about LH/LH satin males and brushing. She doesn't brush hers every day as she says it weakens the coat long term. She uses her fingers to tease out the tangles as Babyboos suggests.
The brush I use (am trying to find another for our two baby LH boys who are sharing (also with Napoleon) at the moment) is a "Super Pet Hamster Petting Brush" which is like a baby brush. I also have a cat flea comb for Rolo but rarely use that as I think hurts him. His coat has been better since we started just using aubiose and strips of loo roll in his cage.
i use a double-sided cat comb. i use the wider toothed side first, then finish with the narrower side. Harvey's coat gets in such a state. he gets actual knots of hair balled up and dragging behind him
