Default Food

In the last week or so I have noticed that Conkers behaviour has changed. Previously she would take her food and put it in her nest. Just lately though she has been taking it and putting it in her wee corner, which is where it stays until she eats it. She now actually sits in this corner when eating and doesn't munch in her nest as she did previously.

Is this normal? She's not done it like this before so I am a little concerned.
thanks

Don't worry it's normal Charlie always does different things with his food lol.

I don't put it in a bowl - I scatter it..he collects most of it up and there is always a little pile in every corner Then, if I give him say a peice of veg in a bowl he will eat the veg then fill up the bowl with his mix

She probably just fancied a change

sounds like my Ali, in summer he has food piles every where... including in his toilet. dirty boy i kept taking the food out because it was rotting and stinking the place up. i think he got the message and moved his supplies elsewhere. now it's winter and getting colder his main pile is under his bum where he sleeps. crazy beggar!

Sonni stores her food in her potty and wees on it too YUK! She also stores in corners etc. Red has a store upstairs in her toy house thing and Pawsy does not really store at all! They do change things round sometimes we find and sleep in different places so I guess it is normal.

Just a thought but maybe she is trying to soften the food a bit.. it will be damp in the wee corner and hamsters as we all know are not fussy about eating their own pee, or drinking their own wee, as they quite regularly wee on their food, wee in their bed and as you have seen put their food where they wee. Check her teeth and be take into consideration she is a "mature" lady now.

Thanks everyone.
Just had a look and the food in the corner is nuts and green and brown chunky things. So maybe that is what its all about. Her teeth are looking fine.

As she is getting older, should I maybe change what she eats or not?
