OMG! I was giving Twix some treats and one of my cats came flying out of nowhere! He swiped her out of my hand and she went flying. She bounced off the top of her cage and fell behind it. Her cages are in a fort, so she was safe from the cats but it scared me to death! Twix is fine but I'm not

If you can try and keep your cats out your room when you open the cage. My girlfriend has a dog in her house and he always jumps up to the cage to sniff it, but if I take my hamster out and put it in the ball, the dog will run away and start shaking. He's such an annoying dog too!

Anyways if you open your cage just close the door in your room and dont let anything in. Thats what I did when I clean my cage. Close the door and let the hamster run around in her ball.

My dog actually lickes Bella >.< LOL he doesnt mind hamsters. but cats they are predators. im glad your hamster is ok i was like this when Bubbles jumped off my legs on to the floor and lucky i catched him he nearly went under my bed, and i forgot bubbles was down stairs in his ball and the cage door was open and ofcourse i forgot he was downstairs, and i screamed and cried >.< but then i remembered hes downstairs ive been there just a couple of panicy seconds.

My very first hamster I left the cage door open by accident and it climbed out, jumped off my chest of draws, ran down the stairs, across the front room and under the cooker! I had to do a trial of food from under the cooker to get it out haha

Don't worry, we all have those moments. I was moving Jigglys food bowl when she sneakily ran out. I panicked and tried to pick her up without handling her at all before hand and she jumped out onto the floor! she splat and I almost cried!!! But she was okay

HOLY COW! Are you alright the shock must be horrible that and to think you can't trust your cats *hugggles* best keep them out of hammy room when your baby is out a shame but definitely necessary.

Wow that must have been a shocker for you, glad to hear Twix is ok. it sounds like your cat will take her chance if she can, and you know how fast and smart they can be. Best to have a door shut rule when opening the cage

I never let my cat alone in the room where Peaches lives! (My bedroom!) He always has to be supervised, and doesn't go in there overnight. My scariest moment so far was when I opened the cage door (Peaches loves to climb up the door when I open it) and just as I was stroking her, to try and get her back inside, she then JUMPED off the door and into my bedroom!!!!!!

I'd forgotten she loves to jump...

But managed to catch her and put her back
