I have to tell you that Souffle has been keeping a secret from me for about 8 years!

I was looking at a picture of my old hamster Lucy, who was a longhaired golden. She appeared to have very long back tufts and was quite fluffy all over, so I commented to Souffle 'are you sure Lucy wasn't a boy, she's got very long back tufts!' Souffle replied 'Well...'

Souffle finally admitted that Lucy was in fact a Lucian, and when we went to the shop to choose a hamster, there was only boys and I really wanted a girl. Souffle didn't have the heart to tell me!

Haha! Thats funny, Im sure these days you arent as picky about boy and girl hamsters. That is a funny story though. Lucian has beautiful markings though.

No, these days I'm not so fussy ~ boys or girls will do, though I prefer boys now! but I am fussy about colour ~ next I want a dominant spot and a longhair black-eyed cream satin male (possibly rex)!!!

when i was about 7 or 8 i wanted a girl hamster and i got a lovely long-haired cream and called it Tico... looking back at photos i notice that he has a lovely long skirt! my mum told me that all hamsters have large pink "bottom cheeks"
