Oh My God
major disaster averted, JUST......
So i came upstairs to feed the fluffs before going to bed, got to the top of the stairs and looked to ebony and ivory's space (2 self black syrian sisters) and to my horror...... ivory's door was WIDE open and no hamster in sight
the lounge door had been wedged open (down a flight of stairs) and moggy had been running in and out like a loon all night, the bathroom door (next to the cages) was also open, theres atleast 3 spaces a norty hamster can get into the walls in there!!!!
so i shut the bathroom door ran back downstairs, shut the lounge door, looked all over all 3 landings, ripped the bathroom to pieces, came out the bathroom on the verge of a panic attack......... and who should be sat in the middle of the landing, cheek pouches bulging....... yep IVORY
lots of hugs and kisses later, and the monster is back in her cage, with the door firmly shut and clips added

Re: Oh My God
What a shock! Trust them though...while our hearts are pounding, temperature rising and we tear furniture apart to find them - they're sitting pretty in the middle with their stuffed faces like..."What's all the fuss about?"

I have used clips with great success as well - all of the hamsters I have known (3) were accomplished at the art of opening a cage door - the ones I use are called " binder clips" by Wikipedia and have proven to be absolutely hamster-proof so far.
