Good luck with making a bin cage It's definitely a cheap alternative of making a nice large cage! You should look at the "DIY" forum here. There are a few threads on making a bin cage. You can cut a big hole in the cover and use zip ties to stretch a metal mesh over it. That's all there is to do for a bin cage!

Depending on whether you have cats or other animals to pose a threat to your hamster and whether your bin cage has tall sides, you might not even need to have a cover on. I'm pretty sure your hamster is a dwarf, and if she can't get close to the top after you've filled the cage with toys and bedding--she won't get out. If you have other animals on the loose though, I'd definitely cover it.

--
The reason she was sleeping in the sand bowl is that there's not much else to do in her current tiny cage--so it's a naturally cozy spot for her to be in. Aside from that, dwarf hamsters love their sand / litter boxes and are happy to take naps in them--that's normal.

shyimaphadh, your cage at the moment is very small and won`t allow your little girl much room at all. The BIN cages that are made from plastic storage boxes are very good and can be easily ventilated (as you can see from the images Hamtastic has kindly posted). I imagine being in Malaysia it gets very humid at times? So ventilation is important.

If you are on a budget, it`s also important that you research everything before you buy it because you don`t want to buy something that`s not suitable, so do give the forum members an idea of what you can buy over there and we can give you a yes or a no as to whether it`s a good buy or not. Your wheel should have a solid running surface (like the one you already have) but be at least 6" or 7" inches across. 8" inches would be better.

There is lots of information on this forum so look in all the sections for ideas on how to furnish your cage and how best to feed her. A commercial dry diet (mix) is best and one that does`nt contain added sugars or molasses. If she`s a dwarf hamster (and she does look like a russian variety in your images) she will be prone to diabetes, so it`s best to look for a mix that is suitable for dwarf hamsters.

yeah,i was told that she could not only eat kuaci. so i gave her a balance dry food mix that have protein. and in her drink i add vitamin c powder so that she doesn't get wet tail n diarrhea easily.
can u tell me what size of plastic container should i buy to make the little angel home?
for the furnishing i think i can use toilet role and other stuff that can be found around the house

She is a very cute dwarf hamster so she will not get as big as a syrian. The wheel is a fine size for her just now so don't worry about that and it will allow her to exercise while you make a bin cage for her.
The plastic bin should be as large as you can afford and at least 50cm long and 50cm high. Bigger if you can.
There are some pics on Manda's site here of bin cage ideas

also on the WIKI are some more ideas.
Thanks to everyone helping shyimafadh is such a kind way.

Your hamsters diet will be catered for in a good hamster mix and yes you can use ripped kitchen roll or loo roll for nesting material and boxes as toys. Dwarf hamsters do not get wet tail so do not worry about this.

Oh I see so it is not wide enough for her even though it looks like it is fine in length. Maybe look out for a wider one.

yeah,i think i should cause i won't want her to get injure. near my school area there is no vet so its gonna be quite trouble if she gets into pain or anything..
btw, can i just put the sand bath the cage and change it every 3 days or so?
