I'm back y'all...I know it's been a while but I've been awful busy...started a new job in admin to supplement my income whilst I train as a proofreader...I've said goodbye to my profession (Solicitor)...no work-life balance is achievable so that's the end of that...I've given it about 15 years and I'm drained...I'm working in a call centre but not the usual bland customer service stuff...and I'll get a managerial position in due course cos of my quals and experience...can't work the shifts though so am presently doing the "family friendly" shift weekdays which fits around the school runs and suits me just fine.

I've decided not to pursue the legal research/writer stuff as that involves writing essay answers to stuff for law students...not my bag that...I haven't studied most of the areas of law that arise and haven't seen the syllabi so haven't a clue where to start...I found all that hard enough when I was a student myself so that leaves my proofreading combined with my part-time admin work which will give me sufficient income to get by.

Aidan has started swimming lessons on Sunday as well so that has added to our already busy schedule and we've lost most of our Saturdays to contact between him and his dad so our free time is dwindling.

Plus I've had car trouble and can't afford the repair bill so I've temporarily given it to a friend to use in return for getting the repairs done free gratis and lifts to and from work and then to cap it all someone pranged it the other week so I've had to see to that as well.

I see we've missed the photo comp...no worries will enter the next one.

Thanks to Pophammy for posting up the Hammy pics...cute but of course I'm biassed.

Well we're both ok and I'll try to get on here more often now that I'm settled in at work and have got the holidays over. Hope you lot are all ok too.

I'm very familliar with the juggling work and family life scenario and I also lose Will to his Dad's every other weekend which is hard but necessary. Hope things are sorting themselves out for you now.

How's your nephew's new hamster?
