So at long last you can all see how cute this little fella is!
He doesn't seem to reckon much to his food (Harry the Hamster) but he is nibbling on the fresh carrots and cauliflower that I've given him...hopefully he just needs to get used to the change as Cathy fed him on her pet shop mix, which does look similar. I haven't tried the runnier stuff yet but will do tomorrow when I get some from the supermarket...I forgot
Tonight he's getting a piece of banana so I'll see what he makes of that.

Awww just adorable. He is a Golden and a very handsome chappy at that. The cage looks very comfy and Aiden looks quite at home holding Hammy. Gorgeous.
Hey thanks for the positive feedback...it's nice to know that everything looks ok at this end.
Yep Cathy said that Hammy is a golden and I wouldn't swap him for the world. I've gotten quite attached to him over the last few days and I find myself wandering over to his cage to have a little chat to him. I'm developing "hammy speak" too
I've just caught him having a good old chew at the bars again...he was making so much noise that I could hear him upstairs. I just keep trying to divert his attention away from it when I catch him in the hope that he'll eventually stop.
Is there really life outside of the hammy world? I'm beginning to think that it's going to become obsessional for me...I'll have to snap myself out of that sharpish!
Beautiful ham Jill! he's so adorable, and thats a really nice cage you have there! great cleat pictures too! Its to bad he found the bars.. bad hammies who bar chew!
I wonder if I could find a online store in the UK that would ship one of those cages to the US? or else one day ill save some cash and have one of you send it out to me They look wonderful, nice and deep with high lids

Funnily enough Will was laughing at me earlier for doing my *hammy voice*...I can't stop though 'cos I think the hammies love it (they always stop what they are doing and stand on their hind legs listening to me for ages!!!).

I don't think they'd be too expensive to send surface, very well packed/boxed up, Snuggleham - it would take 4-6 weeks to arrive but airmail would be exhorbitant (I do a lot of ebay and have sent several large items to the USA). I'd be more than happy to do it for you if/when you want to - my local petshop has them in stock
It is amazing how quickly one can become attached to a hamster!! We check on Elizabeth numerous times throughout the day and really look forward to having play time with her each evening. I also have always talked to my hammies and am convinced they grow to recognize voices and know which ones will lead to a friendly lift outside the cage or a nice treat !!
Great pics, and your little guys are both quite handsome!!
