Aww that is wonderful new Intense. So glad you found the right hammy and the pet shop seems like a good one that cares. Looking forward to hearing all about the adventures of Elizabeth Grace. That sounds very regal

By the way she is a Long haired Sable hamster. They are so my favourites. My Runty was a sable. If you look at the undercoat it will be cream and her cream eye rings tell you she is a sable. Absolutly gorgeous!

Awwww I saw Elizabeth's picture on your profile, what an adorable precious little fuzz ball! Congratulations!! I'm surprised you guys got one so soon, I had the impression your family would wait longer. But I think its good that you found Elizabeth Grace I cant wait to see more pictures and hear more about her

It's great to know her type--I will write that down! There were a few in the shop with light-colored circles around their eyes which we thought was really interesting and quite striking

Little Elizabeth Grace was up and running on her wheel this am. She appeared to be much more comfortable as I approached her cage and even took a bit of fruit from my hand ! My girls were also anxious to check in on her this am. The 3 of them together can be quite loud, so I've asked them to whisper when around the hammy at least until she gets used to us. We think she's picked a favorite corner of the cage but she hasn't built a nest yet (could she have been up all night?), so my daughter added some more bedding to that corner for her.

Oh she is absolutely beautiful (my nine year old can't believe how cute she is ), I'm so glad you found a little friend to share your home with - I expect your girls are over the moon with her.

I read Macy's story last week and was really moved by it, Elizabeth Grace is a lucky little hammy to have found you.

We find that babies take some time to find their way and sort out everything to their liking Sometimes they sleep in strange places like under the wheel or in the potty with no bedding but they work it out eventually. Have you started adding the scented (your scent)tissue as it helps with taming?
It is so exiting watching them settle and grow.

No, but thanks for the reminder --I'll do that as soon as I get home! I also just printed the "Taming Tips" article by you and Pophammy so that I can go over it some more tonight. I think I'll have my older girls read it, also!

Little Miss Elizabeth made her first nest this am! I was so proud of her as I watched her carry the tissue with my scent on it to her favorite corner!! She's warming up to us and doing quite well She has already stolen our hearts

I'm so pleased that you have another hammy! She is really pretty looking too!
I remember when I got Snowy and Smokey, it took Snowy about a week to find the lovely big nest that Smokey had made! Snowy was sleeping in the potty every night while Smokey had a big nest to himself!!
