Default Hairless hamsters?

Does anyone here on HC have any experience or knowledge about Hairless hamsters? It occurred to me that we only mention them once in the syrian hamster article on the website. I think it would be nice to have more information on the Hairless hamster specifically.

People most encounter this in the syrian hamster it seems, but I saw a couple pictures of hairless dwarf hamsters as well? I could write up an article on this myself by basic web researching, but I was wondering if anyone here had some first hand experience or knowledge about them that might be willing to take on the article for the website? Id also like to include some pictures that arent just stolen from a random place on the web.

So.. anyone? If not a complete article on the subject can anyone find me some sample pictures that we could use?

Many hairless hamsters are the result of poor breeding practice and the breeding of two satin hamsters. This double satinisation produces animals with very sparse or no fur. Two satin animals should never be mated.

*nods* from what I have read about them thus far, it doesn't seem in my opinion that they should be produced at all. I believe I saw one for sale once in a Petsmart here in the US. It seems the mutation also causes shorter life spans, lower immune systems and prevents female hairless ham from producing milk for their young.

Then there is the issue of properly caring for them as their skin can easily scraped and what not.

I had one as a rescue and it was a darling wee thing but every so fragile and I was always having to rub oil into her skin to keep it hydrated and scratch free

I know hairless mice have poor immune systems but I don`t know a great deal about them, or hairless hamsters! You can get hairless rats too.
