sorry havent been on site for a while my father in law died then i lost nikki who was 3 and then poor jesper died on new years day and i was really upset the amount of people who kept saying it only a hamster really annoyed me

Hello Crystal, sorry to hear about your recent losses, and don't apologize for having been away from the forum. We all understand that "life" can happen and take us away from other things. Many users come and go from the community, and sometimes show up again later. We would certainly never condemn someone for that *hugs*

Many people cant understand the love that we have for our small pets. I suppose since hamsters are so small and have short life spans they don't appreciate them as being a living creature as they might a dog or cat. Maybe people would rather spend money on a new hamster then bring a sick one to the vets for example.

Just ignore those people who think your being silly. We know how you feel here.

I am so sorry to hear of your recent losses.
The loss of any living thing human of otherwise affects you so deeply and the pain can be so hard to get over. I hope that in time your memories will bring you comfort and you can look back and smile at all the happy times you had together.

many thanx for your kind words poor jesper had a tumour had to call vet out she was really bad so he put her to sleep people said just leave her she will die in her sleep but it was worth the money to pay the vet as she looked so peaceful when he did it same with nikki i cant believe they even thought i would consider leaving them to suffer until the end they obviously dont know me as well as i thought.

You did the right thing absolutly crystralwing in giving them the greatest gift of all which is peaceful rest in their hour of need. Sadly not everyone has the same empathy with our furry friends as you have.
