I voted Dwarf because even though Syrians are cute I like the size of Dwarfs and they are so cute! Its a hard choice though!!

Both types make excellent pets for different types of people. Syrians are good for children as they are easy to handle but they have to live alone. Dwarfs can live in groups and are lively and fun to watch but can be harder to handle as they are small and quick. Robos are lovely to watch too but can be hard to handle are are really more suitable for adults. Chinese can be lovely but again are small and speedy and some lines can be agressive. My favourites personally are syrians though I have kept dwarf in the past and will probably have some again soon

I really have not much of a preference as both make brilliant pets, but if I had to pick I would pick Syrians as they are larger and normally more calm, and I have only ever owned them (although I am looking after the school's Campbells for the hols). I am hoping to geet some Dwarf hamsters sometime though, but probably not anytime soon!

Pretty much insert all of what Souffle said for me :P I like Dwarf hamsters and Syrian hamsters for different reason, I don't think I can really pick a favorite. Therefor I have opted to not vote.

So you too (pophammy and LilaHam) go to the same school! Are you in the same year? It would be so cool if someone from my school was on here!
Dwarf Or Syrian? I cant really comment as I only have Syrian and I am not going to vote as I dont think its fair to say "Which is a better pet" "Syrian or dwarf " as Both make a fantastic pet.

Yes, we are in the same year Minicooper. Lilaham is a good friend of mine and she recently got a hamster, which is why I invited her to join us on HC!

I love both. Traditionally I've always had Syrians, I started with Sammy, a gorgeous banded Syrian with the nicest temperament of any hamster I've known. He was soft as butter. Then I had Shavo, who despite me contantly trying to handle him and tame him was really moody and would roar and bite me (by roar I mean squeak but trust me, in hamsterland it was an equivalent of a roar) and now I have Sephy. It's only been in the last week that I've owned Dwarfs but they're both so lovely and fun to play with so really I can't choose a favourite!
