Default Chocolate Crazy!!

My Hamster Lila Ginger Fairy Chocolate Cream Is Mad About Chocolate, Although Lila Has Never Tasted Chocolate Everytime ive eaten it and walk by her cage she comes out and climbs up her cage to get to me. Lila Has now started Licking my fingers when ive had chocolate to which i have to take her away so she doesnt eat any.
I now have to wash my hands for ages before handling her which i hate well, i guess its better then not being allowed to have chocolate anymore!

Hamsters should never ever eat Chocolate and you shouldnt really let her Lick your fingers.

Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. Chocolate could kill a hamster.

Hamsters enjoy vitakraft treats, I have a few packs. I have "milk and honey", "strawberry" and "yogurt" flavoured ones. You can buy them from all good pet shops. Hamsters love them!

Yes chocolate is not suitable for hamsters. They should only have ones specifically designed for hamsters. Rabbit/ gerbil/ guinea pig treats should not be given to hamsters either. Best not eat chocolate near her and stick to healthy treats such as a raison or tiny bit of egg or chicken. But not too much, only maybe 1 a day or they could upset her system.
