Default Where do your hamsters come from?

Another little poll I thought might be interesting......if your hamsters come from more than one type of source, choose the most common/first souce an post about the others (don't think we can do multiple choice polls on here).

Merry & Pippin ended up coming from a pet shop, after searching high and low for a local Roborovski breeder, I found out that one in Essex supplied a certain chain pet shop, and that was my best bet. I'd very much have preferred to have got them direct from a breeder, and since getting them and delving deeper into the UK hamster fancy I now know of many more hamster breeders and don't plan on going to a pet shop again.

Alfie came from a rescue of course but I ticked pet shop in the poll for M&P.

I breed my own or get them from breeders although I also do a lot of rescue work, but I do not breed with these guys.

My roborovskis Machu and Pichu came from a local family owned pet shop.. I decided the just vote pet shop since thats where most of mine had come from. Gerlad on the other hand was a rescure, we adopted him from a family who just didnt care anymore.

Poor Gerald... But now he has a nice home with me!

I got all three from a breeder that was able to tell me about the care, how old, and the type of care that they have recieved. I was also able to see the mom and dad.

Same here. So far no success in finding any breeders anywhere close.
