Re: A little worried
I had a similar situation when I took on 3 guinea pigs. Told the owner I'd keep in touch so I did and they started getting nasty saying they were still legaly his and he could take them off me if he wanted.. Emailed back saying if they are still his then he wouldn't mind giving me the £100 in vet bills that they cost.. Never heard back from him

Re: A little worried
Oh, how awful for you - Pickle would refuse to go I'm sure; he knows who's his real Mummy! Redame is totally right with regards to the costs you have incurred, which I'm sure by now must be much more than the cost of the hammie and cage anyway. Try not to worry, I bet nothing comes of it, sounds like she is testing the water by talking to your friend. Just wait and see

Re: A little worried
I can't believe she'd do that
Pickle isn't a possession that can be claimed, paid for by her or not! Hes a living creature and he deserves to be in a loving home. She doesn't have one good reason to take him back!
Unfortunately i think shes fishing for money, or trouble, i think you have too many people on your side for her to even risk trying to force you

Re: A little worried
Yea do what poodle and redame say. If she ever confronts you about wanting him back just tell her since its her hamster then and you apparently have just been taking care of it, she owes you this and this and this, she'll shut up lol. Try not to worry about it at all. If she has to pester nice people who have done her a favor by taking care of a pet she couldn't, just so she can have money to by her kid a birthday present.... well clearly it seems the hamster is not the only thing she can't support properly

Re: A little worried
true. I've had this week off work so maybe me not being in work has helped and she has forgotten all about it...I'm gonna keep my mouth shut and if she questions it anymore to myself personally then i will try the above suggestions. Thanks guys its nice to know Pickle has lots of aunties and uncles watching out for him...
