i just went and woken her and i feel all disheartened and upset her left eye has gone sticky again. im gutted!!! im hoping its just a sleepy eye and not conjunctivitis back again. im torn i really am

she now only allowing me to feed her fluids if enticed with yoghurt on the syringe (another diva hey!)

we are on day 2 of the antibiotics so was told to expect most improvement on day 3.

Oh no! She must be feeling better though after what you said earlier. Is it possible to clean her eye with some cotton wool and cooled boiled water? I don't know if you are allowed to do this with hamsters.

i know i was seeing improvements then wham like someone slapped me (hard!)it shocked me when i stirred her for a feed. i just dont know how long do i give it before i decide what to do for speckles best interest. im preying it was just a minor blip on her road to recovery but i also have to be realistic with myself and not dilude myself in selfishness to keep her going.

Yeah, I've heard of people doing it before and I imagine it would clear up the eye for a decent amount of time. Maybe it's worth a go, Dora?

if it still sticky when i waken her next i will give it a go and see if it reappears or not. i feel so bad for her all she wants to do is sleep and then in comes me with my syringe poor girl.. and atm dora running around like the maddo she is. it really not much of a life for speckles just now.

back to positive thinking! atleast she isnt bar chewing (yet!)

She may not like it much but it's for her own good, I'm sure she'll thank you eventually!

I know, it's sort of like they can feel the pain but know inside that all your doing is helping them. If you understand what I mean?
