Default Robo Hamsters?

Hey guys, for the 2nd time this year im seriously thinking about getting a little robo, i think they're so cute n pretty much irristable. However I want to make sure I can give it the best possible care, so would be great if robo owners would share their tricks of care with me before I get one : )

Thanks guys

I have one little guy called Billy - he lives in a Savic Rody cage as he has 'spinning' so levels are not good for him! He has the same toys as a syrian - dust bath, wheel, sleeping house, chewing toys etc. and i feed him on HH, P@H hamster food.
He gets fresh fruit/veg once/twice a week and has ball time about twice a week, he would have more time in his ball but when he gets stressed it causes his spinning to get worse.

I've only had my pair for just over a day however I've noticed they are little exercise machines and love lotts of room to run with tunnels and hidey houses and ideally a wheel each because they can run all night on those things.

A cage where you can get both arms in is ideal because they are fast and you either need to scoop quickly while they are cleaning or sat in a corner, or take out their furniture while they are in it and put that on your lap.

They are such a joy and so docile. I felt guilty for buying them at first but its one of the best things I've done!

You should get some

They are really entertaining to watch and despite what people say they can be the most loveable little things!
I really reccommend you get a pair as they really do enjoy company, also theres nothing cuter than two sleeping robos snuggled together
But it is importnat your prepared if they need to be split, so if you aren't prepared to have two seperate cages then get a single.

But saying that if all the neccesary precaution are taken:
- two wheels
- two water bottles
- scatter food instead of bowl
- houses with ore than one enterance
- don't fully cage clean
Then its actually most likely they will live together all tehre lives. Its normally those who don't take those precautions that need to split.
but saying that i took none of those precaution with mine and they lived together all their lives and some pairs just don't get on no matter what you do!

So its a bit hit and miss, but your probably better off going to a breeder if you can.

Oh and reccomend plastic tank style cages like the duna multy, zoozone or the gabbers.
The zoozone 2 is a bit big for a pair and you don't want to give them too much or too little space.
gabber rex , duna multya nd zz1 is perfect for a pair

I can only echo what the others have said, but I would get them from a breeder as lots of people get them from pet shops and find them very hard to tame. Bit pip and squeak came from Tammy, and they are perfectly tame

Yeah my 2 are lovely i really recommmend them. but they need alot of attention to be able to handle. also are very fast but arent great at escaping - in my experience. and dont like to climb x
mine are in a bin - well they are usually in a bin but are now in a smaller bar cage while mimi and her babies are in there x

another thing i think its best to get 2, they do like a friend. but they would need a spare cage (even something small) so if they fight they can go in there, while u get a bigger cage or whatever. my 2 love each others company,so yeah i think 2s best x

I would seriously reccomend if you want a pair to get them from an experianced breeder because you might have the problem I had when they are not sexed properly and you end up with a litter.

Thanks guys : ) I was only thinking of getting one tho, and before you guys all say NNoOOO get a pair, here's my reasoning, I go to a college where I get up at 5 in the morning, leave the house by 7 and don't get back til half past 7, if they were to fight during that time i wouldn't know anything about it, and could come home to something pretty serious. I have a lot of spare cages if I were to get 2 and they needed seperating so that wouldnt be a problem : )

Thanks again guys x
