Re: HELP ME! Smudge Has Escaped :(
I'm sorry to hear that, Mark. Stay positive and with all these tips I'm sure he'll turn up. It's not your fault either, you was just trying to help him out by giving him the bin cage.

Re: HELP ME! Smudge Has Escaped :(
Aww thats awful
i remember when pearl escaped - luckily i stumbled out of bed for the loo (at night) and passed my mums room and heard a scuffling noise and was absolutely petrified - but she stuffed herself behind my mums drawers -.- took me and mum 2 hours to get her out!!
Is there a treat he likes? if so you could like shake it... just a thought...
try getting down to floor level and see where youd go if u were a hamster lol - works well actually
goodluck - hope u find him!

Re: HELP ME! Smudge Has Escaped :(
How awful for you! You were doing your best for him changing cages, so don't blame yourself, it could happen to any one of us at any time, chewing is just a hamster obsession. Everyone's advice is great; maybe if you are doing bucket traps, put some of Stella's bedding in each one, so that whichever room he's in, he'll smell it and get tempted to go to it? Maybe he's been napping today whilst you have been looking, but he should come out later when it's dark. Fingers and toes crossed that he hurries up and comes home safe & sound xx

Maybe if you leaved the cambridge with the door open...? maybe he'll see or smell it and come back to it because he's been living in there...? Just a thought
