I agree with your friend If you have the space, money and time to spare for another hamster, you should definately get it. I'm sure the hamster would love its new home instead of a pet-shop or an owner who doesnt have the time for it I am very tempted to get another syrian hamster, however, i am kept too occupied by school and activities! so i you have the chance, i would definately say yes!
