I agree with everyone else, Only you know if you are ready.

All you have to think about is Poppet will be very happy for you, if you were helping out a homeless hammy x

I agree, Poppet would be very happy to see you rescuing a hammy friend.

But it's up to you to choose when you feel the time is right for you to move on.

Poppet can never be replaced
You were chosen specially to be poppets loving owner and she left you comforted and satisfied with that!
When a hamster tugs at your heart strings it is meant to be and they are choosing you, not the other way around
Poppet will always watch over you and the other hamsters that come into your life, i'm sure she wants them to have the same great care she did!
You know yourself whether you are ready xx

We had Pickle and Peanut out for some floor time which was chaotic, Peanut runs like he has a demon chasing him.... Pickle gave my BF a whisker kiss which made us smile...I think i will concentrate on my boys for now but keep my eyes open for any homeless hammies...

mmmmmmmm so i've given it a lot of thought and would like another little girl syrian..i'm currently looking thru ads to rescue an unwanted like Pickle..it's times like these i wish i could drive...The reason i changed my mind was the other night as Pickle was having floor time i drummed my fingers on the floor and called " pickly wickly pants" and he turned and came running. i wasn't expecting this as all my other furbabies run the opposite direction as they don't want playtime to end. Also discovered if i run my fingers in one direction across the floor he follows! anyway back to topic this made me think of how lovely they truly are and there is a space in our home and plenty of love ready for another hammy..My pet store has rescues sometimes so i will keep my eyes peeled and i have a week off work soon so plenty of time to tame her etc...

Hehe! I am happy you have made your mind up. It's hard - when Peaches left us, I kept finding myself talking to the empty cage for two weeks, before I caved and got Chewy. I felt like I was neglecting her memory, but I couldn't bare there being an empty hamster home in my flat. Specially when I kept hearing noises that sounded like Peaches from it. But anyway! It was a good choice for me. I have never forgotten how much I adored Peaches, but I had the distraction of a new chum to tame, which did wonders for me, as I was truly moping around all sad until then. And I think I provide a good home for small furries - they get hours of run around time every night, and it's a shame to deny a little critter that, isn't it?
