You might want to try looking in your phone book.. or try a Google search.

yes I tried that but there doesn't seem to be anything and I don't really want to get one off a pet shop from past experience.

Try babyboos' website as there are breeders listed on there:
http://www.babyboos.com Then click on `Useful links` to find various breeders and other information, including links to a couple of rescue organisation directories! There may be someone in your area. Hope this helps.

I think either is good Minicooper. If you plan on breeding hamsters then you should definitely find a local breeder with plenty of experience. (Of course don't get into this unless you have done plenty of research!)

But if your just looking for a pet I would suggest a rescue facility. It's rewarding to know you helped a homeless pet find a new home.

there are breeders in my local Friday-Advertiser for baby guinea pigs and hamsters and I find that breeders seem to take care of animals better than pet shops!

Yes breeders usually do take better care of their hamsters then pet shops. They are picky about who their hamsters go to for homes as well. If you are looking for a breeder try and find one that has a good reputation and breeds for quality and health.

But a rescue facility would be a great place to look. Both my Syrians were rescued. I actually got them from people that didn’t want them anymore, but all the same it's a rescue. You might be surprised to see how many homeless hams there are in shelters and in need of a loving home.

Is it hamsters or guinea pigs you are looking for? I know two good hamster breeders in Bourne Valley and Plymouth which are not too far from you. Emma is in Bristol and seems to know about rescues but I think she is busy with her vet training just now. I am sure there will be a RSPCA somewhere near you and they have all sorts of rescue animals. You must talk it over fully with your parents first and have their full agreement before embarking on any new animals.
