Blue Cross Equine and Small Animal Adoption Centre. Main Street, Northiam, Nr Rye, East Sussex TN31 6LP. Tel: 01797 252243. www.bluecross.org.uk
One good thing about the Animal Welfare Bill is it plans to coordinate every rescue organisation in the UK, therefore a comprehensive directory should be produced.

Thank you everyone for your help. I am going to my first animal rescue centre on sunday to have a look but I dont no if there is any small animals, I know they care for rabbits, cats and dogs but I dont no if they care for any other pets.
I havent been to a animal rescue centre before so if you have any tips please share them with me.
Thank you

So have your parents agreed to let you have another pet minicooper? How exciting! If the rescue centre is near, even if they do not have what you are looking for they may be looking for volunteers to walk dogs or just give some of the animals some love and attention which you might enjoy. Let us know what it is like on Sunday.

minicooper,
Dont go buying an animal if you havnt done your research. If there is something other then a hamster that you like its best to be patient and make sure you learn all there is to learn about that animal. Make sure you know if its the right pet for you and that you can provide all its needs.

Good advice Snuggleham. Research is vital. You must be fully prepared at home before you can bring a new pet in. Most rescue centres will require a home check before allowing you to adopt a pet so you should be prepared for that minicooper. If and when you do get a new hamster you will need to 'quarantine' it for a couple of weeks away from Hammis. That means keeping it in another room and washing hands well after handling. Guinea pigs and rabbits are not so easy as hamsters to get holiday care for. You can just pop your hamster in the car and take it to its holiday minder where as larger pets need hutches and runs and secure gardens.
