Default Some quick hamster questions

1. I put some hamster mix in a bowl, but the hamsters just go into the bowl, then get back out again quickly. But when I put a piece of bread in front of them, they gobble it up quickly. What's up with that?

2. I have a bottle of hamster cleaning powder. How often should I use that? I know that I shouldn't put them in water, but I was told to use the powder and just rub it into their fur.

3. One of my hamsters dropped from a bench onto a concrete floor, a drop of about 2 feet. He's been moving a bit less today, and bit me. Will he be okay?

Thanks

1. Hammies are greedy and bread is like a big treat to them so they want to munch it quickly ...but they get hamster mix all the time so they don't get as excited

2. Hamsters shouldnt really be cleaned, they do most of the cleaning themselves, so I'd steer clear of that

3. He is probably nervous because of the fright due to the drop, if he deteriorates anymore in the next 24 hours, contact your vet x

I think Tish has answered then first two questions already
3. Hes probably a bit bruised from the fall and when you pick him up it might hurt, hence why he bit you. Keep a close eye on him!

1. They are more excited about the treat then about the normal casual food
2. Dont use that...its totally useless, they clean themselves, this would probably just disturb them... i havent heard of anyone here on forum who uses that stuff
3. Monitor him and if he is moving less in some 24h better take him to the vet to check. But he should be ok, specially if he is young.
