Default how long have you had your hamster?

I've had Hammis for 9 months, as I got her in November.

I have been around hamsters for over 25 years! In the beginning I was way to young to actually directly care for them but all my earliest memories nearly all have a hamster in them, usually a succession of Golden Shorthaired males and females, up until I was about 6 or 7, when we got a Longhaired Black Eyed Cream Banded, I loved that hamster and my parents had to make a special trip all the way to South of England for her. If it hadn't been for the animal rights movement I wonder if I may never have had hamsters in my life???

Have you had any other animals in your life. Because after Hammis I intend on getting some different animals.

We had this discussion in PM a bit Minicooper, but for the sake of the thread Ill share my experience as well.

The first hamster I owned was a syrian hamster I named Teddy, I was probably about 13-14 then. I didn’t get my next hamster until a year or so ago at age 21. My hamster before last was Gerald (there is a pic of him in the logo) he was a rescue that I owned for about a year. He was probably a year or two already when I got hold of him.

My roborovski Pichu has been around since the spring of 2005

My newest ham Gwen inst that old at all. she’s also adopted and I’ve had her for about a month now id say. But ive had pets of some sort all my life.

I've been around hammies around 10 years now and like Morag all my memories of childhood involve hamsters, i have always had them as pets, my family don't particularly understand why i love them so much and think i would have grown out of it by now but i just love them and they really do fascinate me!!
