Picky eating
So I feed my dwarf hamster harry the hamster and she enjoys it and is able to eat all of it accept for what i think is sweet corn and the the black ball shaped biscuits. I have read up and heard that you should leave these in their cage until they eat it because they wont let themselves starve. I tried for maybe 1-2 days with her having treats and veg as well but she wont eat them. She has gotten into this routine of climbing this side one side of the cages bars until i slide food through. Not for stress reasons just she knows ill feed her meal worms through there. I don’t want her climbing the bars and starving so often I just give her knew food. I don’t mind getting rid of the food she doesn’t like because the dry sweet corn I’m gonna try giving her fresh instead and she loves broccoli but I don’t want her missing out on her nutrients and have no ideas what the weird black ball biscuits make up for in her diet.

Re: Picky eating
I’m not really surprised she doesn’t eat all the harry hamster, it’s not really a suitable food for a dwarf hamster, I’d suggest giving her a dwarf specific diet like the rodipet one which is more suitable & she’d be more likely to eat all of it, or at least most.

Re: Picky eating
Thanks really sorry I wasn’t aware. I only give it to her because I had got a dwarf mix before and it had only 13% protein and I had seen other people use harry the hamster for there dwarfs and there only concern being towards the size of the pieces. Will look into rodipet.

Re: Picky eating
A lot of people use harry hamster for their dwarfs but it's not really ideal.
Better ones are rodipet as Cypher states, the getzoo one or bunny dreams.

Re: Picky eating
My dwarf is on the Rodipet hybrid mix and she eats everything. It has lots of small seeds which are much more suitable for them than the big pellets in Harry Hamster.
