Default Help!

Are pedigree biscrok safe for hamsters?! They have a couple of flavours and I don't have whimzees where I am! Please help!

I just checked them out and the ingredients are extremely vague so I’m not sure. Dog chews aren’t necessary anyway though, just make sure you have some wood chews!

I would strongly recommend avoiding them. I know people use them here and sometimes even recommend them, but they're very low quality in terms of ingredients - lots of vague things and that's really not good at all for any pet including hamsters.

If you have access to Rosewood products, they do have a great chew option of dandelion and nettle roots. Dandelion root in particular to my knowledge often gets received better than wood chews, which aren't really all that popular among hamsters anyways.

They’re fine to be used in moderation, just as an occasional treat.
Don’t feel you have to give your ham chews though if you have difficulty finding them, as long as your ham has a good diet they aren’t necessary.
nettle root & dandelion root are fine too but again only in moderation, dandelion root in particular has strong medicinal properties so should on be given in small pieces very occasionally.
