Wrong Food
Hi, I'm really hoping you can help me.
I get my Syrian hamster's food from Rodipet.
Someone else has been looking after her for me recently and while I was away I ordered her more food. It's only now I'm back, I've realised I'd accidentally ordered the dwarf hybrid food and not the golden hamster food and this is what she's been having.
Will she be ok with this food, she's about 2, or should I order her some of the golden hamster food?
I always get her the junior version because I've heard the other one has a lot of bitty herbs in it.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Wrong Food
It shouldn't necessarily hurt to feed the dwarf hybrid food, but the best Rodipet food for Syrians that can be fed even without adding extra protein boosting foods is the Teddy Junior - not the Syrian junior which is not high enough in protein without adding something to boost the protein level.

Re: Wrong Food
Amityville, thank you. I always give her extra protein as I knew that was lacking in the golden variety. I give her less now though as she's older and I read they need less as they age.

Re: Wrong Food
If she’s happy to eat the food you have now it shouldn’t be a problem so I wouldn’t worry.

Re: Wrong Food
I wouldn't worry. Our Robo has eaten the "wrong" food for i don't know how long when i'm away at work because of my OH's "small hamster-small jar of food" reasoning. I only came across it by chance and pointed out that it's our Syrian's food.

Re: Wrong Food
Thank you Cypher and Ria P for your replies and apologies that is so late. I didn't want to not reply but I've had to build myself up to do it.
My little one seemed to go off the dwarf food so I ordered her some of her usual one.
She hadn't been very well but was on the mend. Unfortunately, she took an unexpected downward turn and I had to take her to the vets to help her over the rainbow bridge. I miss my little girl so much.
The food arrived 1 or 2 days later, along with other treats I'd ordered for her.
I love you Marnie. Always. RIP my Darling girl.

Re: Wrong Food
I am so sorry to hear of Marnie's passing. At 2 years old she was an old lady and her time had come to meet the others at the rainbow bridge. Play well Marnie.
