Best food in Ireland/UK
So I just got a dwarf hamster today and I’m trying to find the best food but I can’t seem to find One that covers all the nutritional needs.
I picked up puur hamster food but there was a few others like natures feast which was mainly pellets I think?
Does anyone know what the best food available in Ireland is (I could order from Uk though) or even a good mix of a couple types?
(Also what is a good portion size for fresh veggies)

Re: Best food in Ireland/UK
Hello!
I'm not too sure what food mixes you could get in Ireland but in England you can get lots of different types. I personally get the Natures Touch food which is suitable for dwarf hamsters. Realistically when looking for food it's best to go for the food that looks quite dull in colour as it's more natural and doesn't have any artificial colours in it etc.
As for giving veg, it's best not to give too much as it can give them a bad stomach but they do also need it in their diet. Maybe give them a very small portion once a day or once every couple days. The best for dwarfs hamsters are usually dark green leafy veg. Carrots aren't too good because they are full of sugar and dwarf hamsters are quite prone to diabetes.
I hope this helps and best of luck!

I couldn't find any good food mixes for my robo and two dwarf hybrids in the shops so order it from Rodipet now.

Re: Best food in Ireland/UK
You won't find any foods suitable for a dwarf hamster in the UK now, there really aren't any.
You could order from Rodipet their foods are good & delivery costs are reasonable, you could order a few bags & store them in the freezer to cut costs a bit.
The only other option really is the Bunny dream dwarf hamster expert from Zooplus.
There are a couple of other good German companies, Getzoo & Mixerama but delivery costs are very high.
Just a small piece of veg daily, I haven't found they over eat veg to be honest so you don't have to worry too much, give as much variety as you can too.
