Question Feeding/hoard question

Recently my partner and I went away and his mum came round to look after the pets. She's really great with them and I really appreciate her looking after them, but the instructions I gave her for feeding Cadmium must not have been clear enough because I came back to find Cadmium's bowl almost overflowing with food and she has at least two enormous hoards of food - one in one of the rooms of her labyrinth house and one in her nest.
Because she has such enormous hoards, she's not touched her food in the bowl/scatter feed around the cage all week. I'm not worried about her starving, I'm just concerned that she's going to be picky and only eat the parts of the mix she wants and not get everything she needs.
So my question is, do I hugely prune her hoards now and get back to her usual feed schedule, or wait until she's due another full clean out to avoid disturbing her nest? The problem with waiting is that I cleaned her out the day before we left, so that's a few weeks of picky feeding :/

Yes, when i returned from a week away recently my hamsters had enough food in their habitats to last them till Christmas.

I did have a tidy up and removed surplus food when they were asleep. I also pruned my Syrian's huge hoard because he was running out of space in his house. I especially checked for fresh food that may have gone off but didn't find any.

Smile Re: Feeding/hoard question

I generally remove most of my hamster's hoard when I clean her out each week, but I leave enough so that she doesn't notice.

The only exception to this was when I bought my hamster a corn on the cob toy for her to gnaw on. When I came back the next morning, all of the corn was in her food storage - she must have spent the whole night gnawing it all off!

When I saw that she was eating nothing but corn all day I had to dump it, - such a waste!

Thanks for the input, I'll prune her hoards when I spot clean.
