Default RatRations Lavenders mix

Has anyone fed the Lavenders mix from rat rations to Syrians?

Is it a good food?

I know Harry hamster is top recommended for Syrians but I prefer feeding something a bit more natural with whole seeds

That mix really doesn't look great there are much better options.

The getzoo Syrian mix looks good, this is the bulk option hence the price. Delivery is expensive but there aren't really any good natural food options in this country unfortunately.

Mixerama also do some mixes that look good.

Oh dear that does limit things. Not sure if it's the nuts that are a problem but mixerama would be another option if the ingredients are ok. Just not really heard many reviews or tried them myself.

(This has peanuts)

(Supposedly for long haired hams)

Another possibility - rodipet, it's the new organic one so again not heard much about it. This is the junior one.

There is also the bunny hamsterdream expert on zooplus but it does look like a lot of small seeds for a Syrian.

The Rodipet Syrian mix is good and it's organic And the website is now in English as well Are the ingredients ok on there for you? If not then Tiny Friends Harry Hamster is probably a safe bet. It contains all the nutrients and vitamins needed, has the right level of protein and the pieces are bigger less itty bitts etc. It contains whole peanuts in their shells but you said you were ok with nuts. The Rodipet one is slightly low on the protein side but it would be easy to supplement with the odd fresh extra like a nut twice a week, and mealworms or freeze dried chicken.

This is the Rodipet one. They do two Syrian organic mixes, one for junior hamsters under 1 year old, and another for senior hamsters over a year old. However I have kept with the junior mix for our older syrian - he didn't like the senior one and it seemed a bit bitty.

With postage it makes it more expensive, so I get two at a time to save on postage.

Otherwise you can't go wrong with Harry Hamster as a basic diet with everything that is needed, and it's sugar-free and hamsters seem to like it and eat all of it.

That one is good but I find the pieces too small for a Syrian - lots of itty bits - our Syrian leaves most of them. I use the Bunny one 50/50 with the Rodipet one and I think he only eats the Rodipet one.

But doesn't mean you have to get the rodipet one it's expensive! You could mix HH 50/50 with the Bunny one maybe?

Price isn't a huge issue as it's just for one hamster, I'd rather pay more and get the best food I can
