Wink Harry Hamster Mix and then what?

I recently just adopted a female Syrian called Peaches 🍑 Shes mad cute and I’m obsessed but one thing I’m not so keen on is balancing a good diet for her - the whole topic is quite over whelming and whilst I know that she needs fresh veg/fruit, cooked meats and seeds it’s intimidating to know what, the quantity of and when to feed her. If someone couldt tell me a little meal plan that would be so appreciated.

Since moving her into a new cage yesterday she’s had one tablespoon of Tiny Friends Harry Hamster food mix!

Thank you 😊

Don't worry too much, Harry Hamster has most of the essential nutrients your ham will need, give plenty to begin with as your ham will need to make a hoard & hams rarely over eat so it's better to give too much rather than too little of the main mix.
Veg should be introduced slowly, so one small piece (most people say a finger nail size) every few days to begin with, you can gradually work up to daily as she gets used to it. Just one or two pieces a day but do try to go for as much variety as possible (within the hamster safe food list, you can find more on that here.)
A young hamster can do with a little extra protein so you could use mealworms if she likes them, cooked plain chicken or tofu are all good for that, a small piece a few times a week would be enough really.
Once or twice a week you could also give a piece of nut, I wouldn't give whole ones but for a syrian half a nut would be fine, walnuts & brazils are popular with hams, they also like monkey nuts which keep them busy for a while too, maybe one a week.
Anything else is extra really, it's fine to use other seeds for taming but only in moderation, sunflower or pumpkin seeds are good, also hemp seeds, a pinch of flax seeds. You can also just take some of the best bits from the food mix for hand feeding & taming so she doesn't get too much of anything.

It's far too overwhelming and complicated and doesn't need to be really. A tablespoon of Harry Hamster is all they need really. It contains everything and is sugar free which is good.

Ditto Cypher basically! I give a bit of fresh veg and a couple of "extras" each day, half a nut, a bit of fruit or a healthy treat - occasionally a bit of cheddar cheese and or pumpkin seeds stuck in a ball for him to attack and pull out or a few sunflower seeds. Our hammy won't eat mealworms or anything remotely resembling an insect.

They love anything fresh and probably get a healthier diet than me with the hamster mix and bit of veg. I do give half a brazil nut a week partly for protein and partly because it contains something that builds the immune system.

For many years people just fed hamsters human leftovers from their dinner! So meat and two veg is probably a good balance really - but these days it's safer to give a mix with all the necessary nutrients and protein in and supplement ad hoc. That's what I do anyway.

I used to use Harry Hamster but now use the Rodipet Organic syrian mix - it's a bit low on protein though so needs supplementing.

They also like a bit of scrambled egg ona teaspoon now and then as well so that's also good protein.
