Default Not sure if overfeeding

I have gradually been changing her food to Rodipet Junior. In the her current food, there are pellets and corn/flakes, which she leaves, there is also corn or cornflakes in the Rodipet, which she leaves but I a trying to discourage fussy eating so I leave it. It seems really mean though as she clearly just doesn't like those. I tend to feed her every few days, mainly so that the bowl doesn't go empty. I sometimes scatter a bit of that food too.
She has different toys that I hide food in, usually her normal food, I pick out seeds and other bits and sometimes put nuts in them. I don't know if these have got boring for her as she has a little routine of going round them to get the food. This food is extra to what is in her bowl so I'm probably not avoiding fussy eating at all!!
I also give her bits of chicken some days and a little piece of vegetable some days.
She was 4 or 5 months when I got her and I have had her for 2 and a half weeks. She looks chunkier to me and her recent poops have been much bigger. She isn't tame enough yet for me to weigh her and I don't know if she would still be growing and how quickly they grow.
She loves using her wheel so I know she is getting excercise.
Sorry for being so clueless, I just want to do right by my little one.

I don't think you can overfeed them to be honest. They pouch most of the food put out and just eat what they need when they need it - which is why it's really important not to throw their hoards out (apart from the fact it stresses them).

I also find a lot gets left with the Rodipet food. But have also found they won't eat day old food and only like it fresh! So yes you waste some food, chucking what's left every day and putting more out, but it's not a big waste/cost really when they only have about a tablespoonful a day. So I now put fresh hamster mix out every day and chuck any that's left.

Thank you Serendipity. That's what I was doing initially and mainly what was left was what she doesn't like but then I was concerned about her being a picky eater but to be honest, it is only the same 2 things that are always left and no one, man or beast, can like everything. I'm using the scoop that came with the Rodipet food. There is no way that is a equivalent to a tablespoon though. I gave her 1.5 scoops one day, which I thought was enough but the next day, aside from the usual bits, it was all gone, hence me going to every few days and putting more in the bowl.

I agree that you can't really over feed them, they only tend to eat what they need really.
I wouldn't worry about a few bits being left or about the exact amount you give, just put plenty in the bowl or scatter feed & then give more when most of it has gone.

I agree, hansters are smart and will just eat what they need and leave or store the rest. Obesity in hamsters is most often caused by by lack of exercise rather than overeating. I feed all of my hams around a tablespoon a day

Oh OK, thank you. I was worried because I was probably a bit generous when initially trying to tame her. She goes in a wheel a lot, or at least she was doing. Not sure she's that satisfied by it now she's had more time out of her cage.
Thanks everyone.
