Default Re: Rodipet Hybrid Hamster Food “Junior”

I don't have a photo of any bags of food & don't have the Rodipet one but I get a bag around the same size 500g & even with 3 it would last me a while, hard to say just how long, still probably be good to get two & keep one in the freezer.

ETA one of the rodipet scoops is about 10g which should be enough for a day, so you get about 50 days from a pack, I think!

The tube the food is in is about the same size as the Tiny friends sand tube if that helps. I do get two at a time as it saves on postage.

Thank you cypher and Serendipity7000, I am thinking of just getting the one tub for the time being just to see if Humbug enjoys it and then if he does in the future order 2 at a time. The size comparison to tiny friend farm sand has given be a better idea of size.

What’s you opinion on the organic Syrian food? https://www.rodipet.co.uk/pet-foods/...nior-500g.html - it seems very low in protein. Although Liquorice does seem to prefer the science selective pellets. Although I am also just considering adding the hybrid mix to her food too.

I'm still not decided on that. I switched from the Syrian junior to the syrian senior but found Newt didn't like the senior one as much - lots of herbs in it and he left a lot. But then moved onto the organic one and I thought that had too many herbs in as well - so went back to the junior syrian one. However Newt liked the organic junior one and now isn't eating much of the original junior syrian one! So I may go back to the organic one!

But I'm sticking with the junior version - as they're both low in protein I don;t think it really matters and the ingredients seem better (at least from Newt's point of view) in the junior one.

I suspect he liked the organic one because of the roasted soya and none of the dried crickets.

I also used to mix the rodipet 50/50 with the bunny dream but went onto just using the rodipet when I ran out of the Bunny dream - and since adding it again Newt ignores that and doesn't like it either!

So I shall probably stick with organic junior rodipet food and some protein supplement.

Nugget on the other hand will eat anything. He has also had the regular junior and senior rodipet and the organic one and mixed with bunny dream and without -and will eat anything!

The Syrian one is much more like the kind of mix that is generally used in Germany & is very different to a mix like Harry Hamster, they do have lots of herbs & dried veg in, I think for most hams it's quite hard to adjust to a German type mix from a more typical UK type diet so you would probably find a lot of it wouldn't be eaten. It is a good food though apart from being low in protein so you could try mixing it with whatever you've been using & see how she gets on.
