Default Dog biscuits

So I am aware that the Biscrok biscuits are safe and a good treat and chew for hamsters but what about the milky bones as they're the only ones available to me?

Or am I ok with just Whimzeez?

EDIT: I know I'm posting a lot hope it's not annoying

Pedigree do very low quality treats with questionable ingredients and also contain vitamins for dogs - not hamsters. So wouldn’t say any of them are suitable. Best stick with whimzees & more natural chews. You could try dandelion root some of my hams have enjoyed those.

Thanks that was quite a surprise. Best I didn't buy any so I'll just go with Whimzeez as I already have a HUGE bag

I agree, it’s best to stick with whimzees and wooden hamster chews (mine prefer natural chews over dyed or painted ones). The Woodlands range (available from p@h) are my hammies favourites!

Don’t apologise about asking questions! I wish I was this thorough when I fgot my first hamsters!

Here’s some of my hammies favourite chews:

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...h-and-nut-chew (Not every hamster is a fan of loofah but loofah is great for hiding sunflower seeds and mealworms in!)

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...bull-rush-ball (I like to stuff it with sunflower seeds to make a puzzle toy)

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...-of-play-balls (My hamsters love love love these! You can soemtiems get them slightly cheaper at Wilko as well)

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...-willow-sticks (I like to untie the sticks and scatter them. They’re also good for hamster DIYs. The bags of small twig pieces are also good! You just can’t beat plain twigs as a hamster chew!)

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...ll-animal-chew

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...ll-animal-chew (My syrians love to throw these chews around!)

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...all-animal-toy (This is my favourite! I split the chews between my hammies and give the basket to one of my Russians. It also come with enough sisal string to make your own versions of the chews above!).

Hi,

Thank you a lot of the links and confirmation it helps me out. Very unfortunately, you are mistaken when you say that this is my first hamster. I have had 6 hamsters but just haven't joined the forum simply because I was too nervous.

Now I say unfortunately because my first hamster had to live its entire life with wrong everything. Wrong cage, bedding and other things. I am deeply ashamed of my past ownership because that hamster had to live in awful conditions. I cannot express my sorrow and wanting to reverse time and change my actions. In fact, a few days after getting the hamster a friend decided to stick their hand in to say hello (I know way too early to be physically interacting with the hamster) and they got bit. This is just proof about how improper care affects the behaviour and quality of the bond you make with the hamster. The hammy was still a bit of a nibbler for the rest of his life and further proves this.

After that hamster sadly passed away I googled something about hamster bedding and fell down the rabbit hole of proper hamster care. I never had cotton bedding though thankfully.

Forever sorry

Don’t apologise for making mistakes you have now learnt from them and are ensuring your hamsters live the best lives possible. I personally use Whimzees, bonio biscuits and monkey nuts to keep my hamsters teeth down but have also heard that pedigree milky bones are safe and walnuts are great for both the teeth and the claws.
