Russian Dwarf Hybrid Sprout Advice
Hello everybody!
My Russian Dwarf Hybrid hamster, Cup Cake, has been eating Versele-Laga Mini Hamster Nature for the first 3 months of her life (I am switching her over to Harry Hamster soon, as it's the best I can find for her at the moment). However, she hasn't been too keen on a certain type of seed from her Versele-Laga Mini Hamster Nature, which she always leaves behind in her food dish. I have collected them; see attached photo. Can anybody please help me identify what seed this is? (The contents on the packet just says "Cereals"). The reason is that I would like to try growing sprouts for her to nibble on, and want to know if this particular seed can grow into a sprout suitable for her to eat.
If this won't work, are there any other easy sprouts I can try, since I've never done this before?
Thank you so much!

Re: Russian Dwarf Hybrid Sprout Advice
I would guess either wheat or barley, either way it should be fine to sprout.
As well as the usual sprouting methods used you can grow them in little pots or saucers to make grass for them which many hams enjoy.
There's a thread here with more about sprouting if you're interested.
Sprouts three ways!
