Hazelnuts
I know you can give hamsters whole walnuts for them to break into and I know you can give monkey nuts in their shells to hamsters but I was just thinking, can you give hamsters whole hazelnuts? they would be something that is harder to break into than monkey nuts but not as difficult as walnuts. and also something a bit different.
thanks!!!

Re: Hazelnuts
Yes, you can give hamsters hazelnuts still in there shells. I have given some to my hamsters in the past but can’t remeber if I made a small hole inthe shells or not (as it was a while ago as last few years the shops were sold out of them at Christmas when I went to get some).

Re: Hazelnuts
Like SKB said, hamsters can have hazelnuts. This would be great for my ham as he hasn’t figured out how to open walnuts but can easily open monkey nuts!

Re: Hazelnuts
thanks!
I bought some walnuts and Snuffles was really interested in it for a while but then he realised it wasn't as easy as a monkey nut and kind of lost interest so maybe I will buy some hazelnuts next!!

Re: Hazelnuts
My last ham wasn't interested in hazelnuts and put it in his toilet area. Walnuts and Brazil nuts were a success.
