Question Porridge?

Hi
I saw a few people saying that they give their hamster porridge. Is that ok to feed? Is it a treat to them and how much do you give? Do you put it in their bowl?
Thanks

Oh yes, and added to that, would a few oats make a nice snack? Because when he found my Hob Nob crumbs he went wild for them. But yeah. NO SHARESIES! Can I give him a few porridge oats though?

And maybe if I do flapjack and leave a lot of sugar out of one and put fruit in.. hmmm...

He's going to be the size of a house if noone stops me.

You can feed raw oats like Scotts porridge oats but ours prefer it cooked into porridge.
We take two teaspoons of readybrek, half a teaspoon wheatgerm, a little milk and a spinkle of debittered brewers yeast. Mix to a soft paste with boiling water, cool and serve!
You can give them a teasoonful out your breakfast bowl too. Ours like rice crispies and those hoop cereals too. Weetabix in milk is good for them. Just don't add or use sugared cereals.

A tiny bit of cows milk seems to be OK we find, better if boiled first. We use lactol puppy and kitten milk actually but a big tin is a bit much if you only have one hammy. You can also use soya milk, kitten milk, goats milk and human baby milk. If you prefer just use water.
