Nut free recipe for Russian dwarf?

Hi all,

I’m a brand-new hamster owner, but already in love with this little guy! I bought it to be a class pet (I’m a preschool teacher), and I have some children in my school with airborne peanut allergies, so I need to figure out how to DIY a good nut-free mix for him. Can anyone help? I’ve spent the afternoon on google and Pinterest and I can’t find any recipes, just very broad guidelines, which make me nervous. I really want to feed him properly, can someone point me in the direction of a recipe?

Mixing your own food is a bit of a minefield as you may not provide the correct nutritional diet. Burgess Dwarf hamster mix is tried and tested and does not contain any nuts or peanuts so you could feed this plus extras in the form of fruit and veg.
